I grew up in the Portland suburbs where for years I was dependent on cars for transportation. As a high-school senior I inherited an old Bruce Gordon frame from my dad and have been pedaling ever since. When not dodging potholes on my commute, my ideal riding involves getting lost in the woods either on trails or quiet fire-roads, or doing a multi-night tour in the beautiful PNW. I am obsessed with maps and enjoy sharing my favorite local touring routes (my Ride With GPS handle is mahlice).

When not on the sales floor or teaching our maintenance classes, I’m in the Montlake fit studio helping riders resolve those nagging discomforts that many people quietly endure. My passion for bicycle fitting stems in part from my past frustrations trying to be comfortable with a body-type well outside the bell-curve. It is so satisfying working through the process and learning what a riders unique needs are and meeting those needs through combination of adjustments and personalized coaching. You should enjoy every aspect of how your bike feels — if you don’t — ask about scheduling a fitting!
